Perhaps my 10th post about my life long project with @duo_etrange, and I seriously hesitated, but here it is at long last - one of my favorite moments from Dans un Sentier Tout Partumé.
In many ways, Dans un Sentier Tout Partumé is a piece where I truly found my voice - and it remains a big part of my creative life to this day.
The text is drawn from Roman de la Rose, an old French poem circa 1230. To me, the language does something to the music that is almost magical - "florrisoient"(flourishing), or "reverdie"(re-greening/reblooming) for example, carry a flavor that shape the atmosphere of this moment.

For the past 1.5 years, I have had the pleasure of working in the kitchen of Au Pied de Cochon. It has been amazing to be able to compose music while cooking - two of my favorite things.
While I was there, I had the opportunity to handle some of the finest, most delicious, and most bizarrely beautiful ingredients one can find. I figured it was only appropriate to share some (terribly taken) photos.

Ya know I may not be the best composer in the world or what not.
But in terms of finely mincing shallots, I can quite confidently say I have reached my destination after years of training in the kitchen.
How many times have you seen a shallot falling apart before you even start chopping? Leave spaces on the sides when you do the vertical, and don't get greedy with the horizontal.
Also sharpen your damn knives please.

Aiight yall I dont know what to show in my first post but here is a piece of candy given by Barbara Hannigan herself.
This candy, so sacred that I held on to this with the tightest grip during her concert with the @osmconcerts singing Claude Vivier's Lonely Child. It was a great concert.
Of course I flexed on the people near me, and the voice students from @schulichmusic were jealous.
